Sustainability

A comprehensive sustainability framework is described below:

Responsible Catering: Measures implemented to minimize and prevent food waste.

Dietary Inclusivity: Expanded vegetarian and vegan menu options.

Waste Management & Conservation: On-site recycling points and designated water refill stations.

Eco-Certified Venue: The host hotel holds the Green Key certification (held continuously for the past 5 years), adhering to international sustainable tourism standards set by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

Thessaloniki Walking Challenge: A gamified green mobility initiative encouraging attendees to explore the city on foot along the waterfront (starting from the Port eastward). The challenge includes educational quizzes on local history and Greek sports legacy, with recognition for the participant logging the highest distance.

The 34th European Association for Sport Management Conference will be hosted in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 15th to 18th of September, 2026, in Grand Hotel Palace.
